A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

On behalf of Council and all our residents, I would like to welcome you to the Township of Whitewater Region’s web site. As this site develops, we hope to provide you with useful information about the Township, municipal services, local businesses, tourism and community events.

Situated along the Ottawa River and dotted with many lakes, the Township offers excellent recreational, agricultural, and business opportunities. Visit our general stores, craft shops, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, tent & trailer parks, picnic areas, campgrounds and resorts. Spend the day shopping, golfing, cross-country skiing, hunting, canoeing, fishing, sailing, swimming, snowmobiling - or just relax and enjoy our Valley hospitality. Enjoy a thrilling whitewater rafting trip on the Ottawa River, visit the Ross Historical Society Museum, attend a country fair or admire the whole Township from the Lookout Park. With many activities available year round, we have something for everyone.

The Township encompasses a total area of approximately five hundred and thirty-eight square kilometres with plenty of land awaiting development. With thirty-one acres of land readily available and accessible to natural gas and three phase hydro service, the Township’s Industrial Park located outside Pembroke along Greenwood Road offers an ideal location for new development. Adding to this, our proximity to several major urban centres that are easily accessible by the Highway 17 corridor enables the Township to provide a close-knit community lifestyle with nearby employment opportunities. Within the Township itself, two sizable manufacturing industries have been in operation for years plus several successful rafting companies provide jobs and attract tourists to the area. One cannot forget also to mention the smaller, family run businesses found within the Township dedicated to providing small town friendly service to area residents and visitors. Whether you choose to live in one of our picturesque country villages and hamlets or on a farm, the Township makes an ideal place to work, live and raise a family. Just ask any one of our sixty-five hundred plus residents who live in the area.

Come and experience Whitewater Region - where we blend rural and urban life in perfect harmony.
