ONTARIO TIRE STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM

The Ontario Tire Stewardship Program was launched on September 1st, 2009 to divert scrap tires away from burning and landfilling and instead, to be reduced, reused and recycled.  The Township’s Landfill Site located at 990 Kohlsmith Road is now a registered collection site and residents can drop off tires at this location free of charge.  Under the Ontario Tire Stewardship Program, the Township receives free pick-up of the scrap tires from a registered tire collector/recycler and funding to assist with the costs of the program.

For further information about this program, visit the Ontario Tire Stewardship Program at www.ontariots.ca

If you have any questions concerning the disposal of tires at the Township’s Landfill Site, please contact the Landfill Site Operations Manager, Steven Hodson, at (613) 635-1517.
