Situated along the magnificent Ottawa River and the
Trans Canada Highway, the Township of Whitewater Region is a four-season
playground offering recreational activities for everyone.
Referred
to as the Whitewater Capital of Canada, the Region is named for its
many world-class whitewater facilities. Many tourism operators
also offer a variety of paddle sports as well as land activities including
hiking, cycling and wildlife trails. With more than 160 kilometres
of waterfront and home of the famous Muskrat Lake, superior fishing
for pickerel, bass and pike, to name just a few, can be found. Enjoy
the public beaches and municipal park or visit the local Farmer’s
Market and museum.
Along with the arrival of autumn comes several local
community Fall Fairs and Rural Ramble, a self-guided driving tour of
local attractions throughout the County of Renfrew, including
numerous
stops within Whitewater Region. Get your camera ready - don’t
miss viewing the vibrant colours of the autumn leaves from high atop
the Scenic Lookout.
As the snow gently falls, Whitewater Region is transformed
into a winter wonderland offering miles of groomed snowmobile trails,
ice fishing, skating and winter carnivals.
