Cobden & District Seniors (55+) Potluck Lunch

Held the first Wednesday of every month (except July & August) starting at 12pm at Community Hall (basement of Municipal office), 44 Main Street.  Bring your favorite dish to share, dinner served at noon.  A short meeting will follow and then card games or bring your favorite game to play.  Also equipped to play shuffleboard and carpet bowling.  The Cobden & District seniors are always looking for new seniors to join.

Good Food Box- June Pick-Up Date

Good Food Box pick-ups for those who placed an order for June (order and payment deadline May 28th). Good Food Box runs monthly from October to June, with pick-ups happening the 1st Thursday of each month between 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and orders due 1 week before. Pick up locations available in Beachburg, Cobden, and Eganville. Visit https://gfbr.connectwell.ca for more information or to place an order. *Please note this is the last Good Food Box before the program pauses for the summer. During July, August and September we encourage buying local produce and supporting our community's farmers!

Mind Your Brain Health

WDRA Golf Tournament

The annual WDRA golf tournament will be held at the Oaks of Cobden on the 20th June starting at 11:00 am. All money raised goes back into our facility to ensure we have programs for all, as well as to pay for needed repairs.

Whitewater Brewery Tour

Starting at 11am, 78 Pembroke Street, Cobden.  Join Whitewater Seniors for a Guided Tour of our local brewery, Whitewater Brewing Company, Lakeside, in the heart of Cobden.  Cost of the guided tour is $5.00.  We'll learn all about the beer brewing process and you will also be able to purchase a beverage or lunch if you are interested.  To register call 613-602-3915 or info@whitewaterseniors.com.

Foresters Falls Athletic Association 2nd Annual Best Ball Golf Tournament

At the Oaks of Cobden Golf Course.  Shot gun start 9am.  18 holes includes golf cart & barbeque lunch.  Registration is $105 per person, $80 for Oaks Members.  Register as a team of 4 or as an individual and be placed on a team.  They are looking for Golfers, Hole Sponsors, Raffle Items, prizes, Grab Bag Items.  To receive a registration form please email ffalls.treasurer@gmail.com.  If you have any questions, email or text Erin at 613-433-5520.

Celebrating Indigenous Culture: Chief Tessouat and the Algonquin Nation

On Sunday, June 28, at 2 p.m., the Bromley Historical Society is honoured to welcome Kirby Whiteduck, a former chief of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation, who will give a presentation on Chief Tessouat and the Algonquin Nation. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the Old Town Hall, 498 Micksburg Road, Osceola Tessouat was the most prominent chief of the Algonquin Nation at the time of first European contact in the Ottawa Valley. In his talk, Whiteduck, will speak about the makeup of the Algonquin Nation at that time and provide glimpses into the political, economic, social and spiritual elements of their lives and vibrant culture.
