The 2025 Rate Study reviewed the customer classifications and recommended changes effective January 1, 2026.

  • Creation of High/Large Commercial - Tier 2 category, for car washes, laundromats, breweries, industrial and arenas
  • Hair salons recategorized as Medium Commercial
  • Funeral homes changed to Small Commercial from Medium Commercial

As part of the 2026 Water and Wastewater Budget, the Township is moving forward with the purchase and installation of water meters for all commercial and industrial users. 

Water Service Turn-on or off (during regular hours) - $50/each
Water Service Turn-on or off (outside regular hour) - $220/each

Bulk Water

Bulk Water - A Whitewater Region Employee/contractor must be in attendance and a backflow preventer must be in place = x 2 Metered Rate

PRE-AUTHORIZED PAYMENT PLANS
Did you know the Township of Whitewater Region offers pre-authorized payment plans for Water/Sewer bills?  Benefits of this include no waiting in line, save on postage and transportation, no need to keep track of due dates and no penalties for missing a due date.pre-authorized payment plans.

AFTER HOURS DROP BOX/IN PERSON PAYMENTS
Payments can be placed in the after hours drop box located at the front door of the municipal office.  If you require a receipt, please indicate that with your payment along with an email or mailing address.
In person payments can be made at the township office by cash, debit or cheque (credit cards not accepted at the front desk).
Payments can also be mailed to PO Box 40, Cobden, ON  K0J 1K0

ONLINE BANKING PAYMENTS
Payments can be made at your bank or online.  Please allow a minimum of 3 business days for online payments.  For online banking please search for payee: Whitewaterregion Water

ONLINE PORTAL
The Township online portal is located on the homepage of the website.  Follow the links to set up your account.  You can also sign up on the portal to have your bills emailed to you instead of being mailed.  You will require your roll number and Access Code/PIN located on your bill to set up your account.
