2026 Freshet Monitoring

The Township of Whitewater Region Emergency Control Group continues to closely monitor Ottawa River water levels, weather forecasts, and potential impacts within our communities.
As part of ongoing flood preparedness and response efforts, the Fire Department will be filling sandbags on Saturday, April 18 at the Westmeath Garage (1798 Westmeath Rd.). Residents may also notice increased fire department presence throughout the weekend, including patrols of local roads.
Please be advised that emergency services access may be impacted in certain areas due to changing conditions.
Until further notice, both the Westmeath and Lapasse boat launches are closed.
Municipal service delivery may experience delays as resources are focused on flood response efforts.
We encourage residents to stay informed, exercise caution in affected areas, and avoid driving through flooded roadways.
