1. Residents in receipt of Ontario Works (OW) or Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) and/or residents who have low-modest household income may be eligible for support through the Homelessness Prevention Program (HPP). This program offers one time funding to support with immediate/short term needs related to flood impacts. This program is subject to eligibility related to income thresholds based on family size and availability of liquid assets. The maximum amount of funding for a household with children is $2,000.00 and the maximum amount for a household without children is $1,500.00. Residents in receipt of OW or ODSP can also contact their caseworker to inquire about HPP funding.

2. Residents that are not in receipt of Ontario Works (OW) or Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) may be eligible for one time funding through the Emergency Assistance Program. The Emergency Assistance Program is not subject to the same income and asset thresholds as the ongoing Ontario Works assistance program. This program offers income support on a short-term basis. The total amount of funding is based on household size and expenses, up to prescribed limits. Funding can be issued all at once or issued in discrete amounts over a 48-day period. This funding is not intended to be used on an ongoing basis but may support with unexpected expenses related to flooding.

**Those who do not have internet access can call 1-888-999-1142 to speak with an Emergency Assistance Program Representative, Monday-Friday, between 8:30am to 5:00pm. The province collects applications for assistance and forwards them to the County of Renfrew. A County representative will reach out to the applicant for follow-up questions to determine the severity of the situation and the scope of financial assistance that is required. This process is completed within 1 to 3 business days.**

Red Cross - if you would like to seek assistance from the Canadian Red Cross, please contact Julie Butala at the Township of Whitewater Region jbutala@whitewaterregion.ca or call 613-646-2282 ext. 139. The residents contact information will be given to the Red Cross and a representative will reach out to the resident and assess their need and what Red Cross is able to provide.
