Want to make a difference in your community? Interested in becoming more involved in the day-to-day business of your local government? Are you thinking about running for a seat on the Township of Whitewater Region Council?
Voting Day is Monday, October 26, 2026. Nomination for candidates for the 2026 Municipal Election opens on Friday, May 1, 2026. You can register in-person at the Township Office (44 Main Street, Cobden) by appointment only between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm. The Nomination Period closes on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 2:00pm.
Interested candidates are asked to fill out FORM 1 and FORM 2 (English), or FORMULAIRE 1 et FORMULAIRE 2 (French) prior to attending their Nomination appointment. Additional candidate resources are available below, or alternatively, hardcopies of the 2026 Candidate Packages can be obtained at the Township Office.
Eligible Whitewater Region votes will elect a number of different positions on Voting Day, including:
The positions of Mayor by virtue of their office, will serve as a County Councillor for Council of the County of Renfrew.
The four (4) year term of office for the next Council begins on Sunday, November 15, 2026.
