Get ready!  The 2026 Municipal & School Board Election is OCTOBER 26, 2026!  This is the landing page for everything election related and will be updated regularly as we reach different milestons in the process.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Nomination Start Date                  May 1, 2026
Nomination End Date                   August 21, 2026 at 2:00pm
Election Day                                 October 26, 2026
New Term of Council Begins        November 15, 2026
End of Campaign Period              December 31, 2026

Are you on the list to vote for the upcoming municipal election?
New for 2026, Elections Ontario is providing the voters list for municipalities.  You can check, update or add your information to the voters list for the Municipal & School Board Election by visiting registertovoteon.ca

Remember, a person is entitled to vote in a Municipal & School Board Election if, on voting day, they:

  • Reside in the local municipality, or are the owner or tenant of land in the municipality, or the spouse of such owner or tenant; and
  • Are a Canadian citizen; and
  • Are at least 18 years old; and
  • Are not prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act or otherwise prohibited by law.
