Service Disruption Notice - Village of Cobden – July 2nd

Water Outage and Road Closures - Crawford Street and Main Street Areas

The Township will be undertaking the repair and replacement of critical underground water infrastructure in the Village of Cobden on the afternoon of Thursday, July 2, with the work expected to continue into the overnight hours.

Two water valve replacements will occur in the area of Crawford St and Main St. The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) has advised that this work will require a temporary water shutoff in the immediate vicinity. The outage is expected to occur sometime in the afternoon and last approximately 1–2 hours.

While the disruption is anticipated to be limited to the Crawford Street and Main Street area, it is possible that additional nearby streets could be affected, including Gould St, Dixon St, Meadow St, Creamery Rd, and Jason St.

To facilitate the completion of the work, Crawford St will be closed from Bromley St to Main St beginning in the afternoon on July 2nd. Main St will only be closed throughout the evening and overnight hours in order to limit traffic disruptions. A detour will be in place for the duration of the Main St closure.

Residents are encouraged to monitor the Township’s social media channels for updates. If any unexpected issues arise, all updates will be posted on the Township’s Facebook page.
