4-H Family Fishing Derby

Join us for a 4-H Family Fishing Derby. Holes drilled by volunteers as needed, set up a rig and learn about equipment you need for ice fishing. Derby entry fees are $25 per family. Prizes for top pike, perch, and walleye/pickerel. It’s the Free - Family Fishing Weekend, NO fishing license required. No experience or equipment needed and small group "learn to fish" instructions are available. Come for the entire event, purchase draw tickets, or just drop in for a bite! The event registration will take place at 9am at Melissa Bishop Park, with fishing on Lake Dore until 1pm. There will be lunch available for purchase and served HOT. Draw prizes will be given out by 1:30pm. INCLUDED : (while supplies last) a 4-H ice fishing jig stick made by youth members or you can bring your own, youth fishing instructions, and kids goodie bag upon registration. We will be fishing outside and ice huts are not provided. It is a short walk from the parking lot, dress in warm layers, and bring a chair.
