On Sunday, June 28, at 2 p.m., the Bromley Historical Society is honoured to welcome Kirby Whiteduck, a former chief of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation, who will give a presentation on Chief Tessouat and the Algonquin Nation. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the Old Town Hall, 498 Micksburg Road, Osceola Tessouat was the most prominent chief of the Algonquin Nation at the time of first European contact in the Ottawa Valley. In his talk, Whiteduck, will speak about the makeup of the Algonquin Nation at that time and provide glimpses into the political, economic, social and spiritual elements of their lives and vibrant culture.
